Patience, Perseverance, and Persecution

We begin the book of Jacob/James, chapter 1. In this sermon, about halfway though the message, we deal with the topic of developing patience and perseverance. How do we develop it? Usually it is through times of testing, trials, tribulation, and persecution. Does this sound like today's world?
