This summer, many congregations across the US will be taking part in what is known as the Ravenhill Challenge. Many congregations will start in July, but some have chosen, as our congregation is doing, to start just after Shavuot/Pentecost. The Ravenhill challenge is a grassroots movement seeking to spark a cry in the body of Messiah for true revival. Each week during this challenge, congregations will be reading chapters from Dr. Michael L. Brown’s book “The End of the American Gospel Enterprise.” There are many voices in the world and in the body of Messiah stating that we need this or that thing, however, before all else we must come to grips with the fact that the body of Messiah desperately needs to repent of our sins before we see revival.

Technical note: A few minutes into the message there are several seconds where the message became damaged somehow. We have recovered those seconds as best as we can, but there is a noticeable drop in quality for those few seconds.

As a young man, Walid Shoebat became a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and participated in acts of terror and violence against Israel, and was later imprisoned in the Russian Compound, Jerusalem’s central prison for incitement and violence against Israel. After his release, he continued his life of violence and rioting in Bethlehem and the Temple Mount. After entering the U.S, he worked as a counselor for the Arab Student Organization at Loop College in Chicago and continued his anti-Israel activities. In 1993, Walid studied the Tanach (Jewish Bible) in a challenge to convert his wife to Islam. Six months later, after intense study, Walid realized that everything he had been taught about Jews was a lie. Convinced he was on the side of evil, he became an advocate for his former enemy. Go Forward

After the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt, the L-rd deliberately led them to the sea. Scripture records that the L-rd told them to “Go Forward” and cross the sea. Despite all the signs and wonders, they were still unable to trust the L-rd for His deliverance.

The same issues apply to us as followers of Y’shua. The Lord has delivered us from our “Egypt” and is telling us to “Go Forward.” Yet, like the children of Israel, we are letting our circumstances and fears stop us from fulfilling His calling on our lives. Memorial Service for Arnaldo Rivas

Note: This is not the actual funeral service that was held in New Mexico but a memorial service we held in our congregation during our Shabbat Service on June 7, 2008.

Rabbi Arnaldo Rivas went home to be with the L-rd on June 2, 2008. He was an incredible man of G-d and filled with the Love of the L-rd. When you met Arnaldo you never forgot him. Every time you saw him you were truly happy to see him and he was truly happy to see you. Even the hugs he gave you were unforgettable. He touched and affected a lot of lives here in Minnesota, even after he moved to New Mexico. Sharing this memorial service is our tribute to him and a way that we can permanently share him with everyone who did not know him.

One of the top priorities in our walk with the Lord is to get to know the Lord. We must not only know about the Lord and His attributes but we must also KNOW the Lord. Scripture is filled with admonitions to us about it.

The Apostle Paul (Saul) said it best:
