Abraham was called of the Lord to leave his ancestral homeland and go to a new land. What many misinterpret is that God called Abraham to leave pagan society behind and escape. What actually happened was that Abraham left his homeland and traveled to a new pagan society. He was called to live in a land surrounded by pagans yet not be like them. We, as followers of Yeshua, are also called to leave our past and go to a new land. We are called to be in a godless society and yet not be a part of it. To witness to them. This message was given by Paul Gunderson, a deacon in our congregation, during our Saturday Shabbat Service on August 14, 2010.
