Memorial Service for Arnaldo Rivas
June 8th, 2008 — seedofabrahamNote: This is not the actual funeral service that was held in New Mexico but a memorial service we held in our congregation during our Shabbat Service on June 7, 2008.
Rabbi Arnaldo Rivas went home to be with the L-rd on June 2, 2008. He was an incredible man of G-d and filled with the Love of the L-rd. When you met Arnaldo you never forgot him. Every time you saw him you were truly happy to see him and he was truly happy to see you. Even the hugs he gave you were unforgettable. He touched and affected a lot of lives here in Minnesota, even after he moved to New Mexico. Sharing this memorial service is our tribute to him and a way that we can permanently share him with everyone who did not know him.

ARNALDO RIVAS WAS MY UNCLE, BUT HE WAS ALSO A FRIEND AND A GUIDE IN MY LIFE. I WILL MISS HIM GREATLY, BUT I’M CERTAIN THAT HE IS IN THE PRESENCE OF OUR LORD. I WORKED WITH HIM IN MINNESOTA FOR 8 YEARS, SO I WAS VERY CLOSE TO HIM. HE WAS LIKE A STAR, EVEN THOUGH HE MOVED TO NM AND DID NOT SEE HIM EVERYDAY, I KNEW I COULD COUNT ON HIM SHOWING UP WHEN I NEEDED HIM. HE WAS A MAN OF FAITH AND COMMITTED TO THE WORK OF GOD.

Arnaldo was my Very Good friend and teacher ! I will miss him Greatly but knowing that I will see him SOON !!! I had the great pleasure to help him in Love and Mercy congergation for 4 years . I can still hear the shofar BLOWING now, and I remember Washing our brothers feet on PASSOVER !!! I love my brother Arnaldo and will miss him but I know he is with the LORD YESHUA . I will see you soon my Brother in YESHUA I love you much Jessie perez

We at Beit HaDerekh, Odessa, Texas will miss Rabbi Rivas very very much! He and his lovely wife and son came and visited us and spoke to our congregation. We had looked forward to many future times to have the Rabbi and family come and share with our congregation. His memory is going to be such a lasting impact on all of us. This coming June 7th, 2009, marks the first yahrzeit for dear Arnaldo. He was a brother and colleague that is sorely missed. May his memory be for a blessing.
